Dube TradePortSouthern Africa's Global Trade Gateway - A RealityDube TradePort strives to achieve a critical balance between economic development and environmental sustainability in its efforts to create an international trade platform capable of serving as a significant source of permanent and sustainable employment in KwaZulu-Natal. The Dube TradePort development initiative is being driven by Dube TradePort, an association incorporated under Section 21 of the Company's Act of 1973. The Provincial Government of KwaZulu-Natal established the public company, Dube TradePort, which is wholly funded by the province’s Department of Economic Development, so enabling it to undertake the development of the Trade Zone, Support Zone and Agri-Zone which combine to form the Dube TradePort. The Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) a national, government-owned company responsible for the development and operation, management and maintenance of airports country-wide, is responsible for the construction and operation of the new international airport element of the Dube TradePort. Dube TradePort is undertaking the development initiative as a response to the need for improved air passenger and air freight facilities in KwaZulu-Natal.
