According to ACSA, flights transferring from the current Durban International Airport will terminate on April 30, 2010 and will move to King Shaka International Airport overnight, with KSIA handling its first flight on May 1, 2010.

South African Express: East London, Johannesburg, Port Elizabeth

British Airways (Comair): Cape Town, Johannesburg
Kulula.com: Cape Town, Johannesburg, Lanseria, Port Elizabeth

Air Mauritius: Mauritius
LAM (Air Mozambique) / SA Airlink: Maputo
Emirates Airlines: Dubai

Emirates Airlines commenced daily flights from the existing Durban International Airport on October 1, 2009, and are the first confirmed overseas carrier to use the Durban airport with flights to Dubai. Connections to most major European and Asian cities are available.

Possible additional international routes for KSIA are London, Frankfurt, Singapore, Hong Kong and Mumbai.

Additionally, the South African Civil Aviation Authority has announced that Durban will serve as the gateway for any additional flights to/from the Far East and Australasia during the 2010 World Cup.
